A bit of history The Akron Civic Theater was built in 1929 and was built by Marcus Loew and designed by the famous architect John Eberson, he designed theaters from 1905-1950. The design is a quirky mix of medieval and Moroccan, it surprisingly meshes well together and gives the theater a timeless classic feel that transports you to a magical faraway land. The Nutcracker Stationed next to Lock 3 in downtown Akron sits the historic Akron Civic. From the outside the building might not look like much, it doesn’t seem to fit into surrounding area, but once you go walk through the second set of doors of the building you will be transported into the past. In the lobby, you will find concession to the left side as soon as you walk in, a few merchandise vendors, and a grand golden staircase. Behind the staircase is where you will find the doors to the lower level seats and to the right side of the hallway you can find the bathrooms and elevator. If you go up the staircase you can find the steps to balcony seats. Up there you can also find more merchandise from what I saw. They […]

Mauritius is a beautiful place to relax and get mesmerized by the natural beauty of the country. This is one country that I would like to revisit again and again. If you Google Mauritius you will be able to see a list of places that are worth visiting. I am not going to advertise the country here. This blog is all about my personal experience at Mauritius and why I would like to revisit the place. Things To Fall In Love With – Mauritius Safe And Secure Place: I am an Indian woman and if you are Indian to you may know what I mean by the safety of a woman. Mauritius is the safest country for a woman (specifically). I had a chance to troll on the roads, beaches, poolside, around the hotel and nearby places (wherever I could) without a ting of fear in my heart. There were no lusty eyes following me. There wasn’t any issue with getting a cab all alone or going to market by all myself. […]

Peru is one place where every traveler wants to visit at least once in his lifetime. I was reading a blog when I decided to visit this place alone. Peru, first of all, is a very welcoming country. I loved visiting this place and would make a plan to come again but this time not alone. In Peru, I spend most of my time in Cusco, a hilly city covered in orange-tiled roofs and centuries-old cathedrals. The city was the capital of the Inca Empire. The remains of the empire can still be found around the city. My Experience In the City: As my plan touched this beautiful place of great artifacts and delicious food I boarded a plan to fly to Cusco. The flight cost by $99 but saved a lot of my time. Had I choose to travel via road I would have to spend 20 hours sitting in the bus. There are plenty of options to stay. Either you can book a room before flying to the country or hunt for the one by yourself while being in the city. I am not about to mention where I stayed and how my experience was as this article […]

Take advantage and make some experience of internal connection: call to go to an ashram or monastery to do yoga, meditation, breathing techniques or service (or all together!). Even visit a spiritual teacher, yours or one recommended, that if you are lucky that he is not traveling may be able to receive you or participate in any activity with him or her. Each one can organize it via web and add it to your itinerary or ask your travel agent. It’s good to go with a tour, especially if you have little time: India, you’ve heard it a thousand times, it’s intense, and the containment of an organized trip frees you from tiring management and gives you shelter (with the comfortable hotel waiting) when you feel that your heart will burst with so much emotional, visual and auditory stimulation. That combo does not fail: a little silence and a little bit of noise; a bit of spiritual flowering and a little bit of absolute reality. As you already know, opposites are attracted and the extremes complement each other. Maybe when you go to Paris you are not thinking where to do an ashtanga yoga session, but if you travel to the East, one cannot escape from […]

We were knackered after a three and a half day drive from up the East Coast of Southern Africa, from Cape Town to the entrance of the Reserve De Maputo. Little did we know, four hours of soft sand tracks lay between us and Milibangalala Campsite. The spade was needed, but in the end, we managed to get a 2×4 pickup-truck to our temporary home. Milibangalala campsite is an untouched stretch of paradise. With sites stretching down the Coast, you will wake up with the sound of the Ocean, and maybe a small monkey chirping in the trees above. The campsite offers minimal facilities, with nothing but non-drinking water available. However, with the amazing surrounding natural beauty, you will not find yourself missing luxuries. For around $6.5 (R100) per night, you are given the freedom of the coast and reserve. Spend your days relaxing on the beach or on game drives around the reserve. With the beach just a couple of meters from your campsite, you will never be too far from your next beer. Although we didn’t have a 4×4 vehicle to embark on game drives, we saw elephant, giraffe, crocodile, as well as a variety of monkeys and buck on […]
